Label Liberation
Label Liberation is a process of recognizing and moving beyond our existing labels and scripts, which limit our sence of self. Are you a person or a symbol first?
If my mother is walking down the street, do you see her as a mother first or a person first? A person, of course. How do I see your mother? As a mother first or a person first? A person, of course. The critical question is, how do you see your own mother? As mother first or a person first? The trap is that we have been conditioned to see our mothers as mothers first, our fathers as fathers first, instead of seeing them as everyone else does - as a person first.
Label Liberation has the potential to transcend restrictive roles, labels, polarities and prejudgments of all kinds, making a profoundly liberating dimension of identity and communication accessible to everyone, whether between individuals, families, companies, countries or cultures. It has the potential to develop, promote and foster human understanding, goodwill and peace by enabling all persons to understand, evaluate and appreciate one another as individuals free from bias, prejudice and misconceptions arising out of/or created by social, ethnic, racial or national labels, symbols, classifications or nomenclature.
What does it mean to be "liberated" from labels?
Once we recognize and free ourselves from the hypnotizing effects of labels, we are able to:

"Label Liberation is an emotional equivalent to a cure for cancer." Katherine Hoey, educator "Label Liberation is glorious, awesome, astounding. It means a lot to me." Deepak Chopra, M.D. |
Justin's thesis relates to making the leap beyond all polarities, where we step off the teeter-totter. We can free ourselves from being prisoners to an addictive public/private split. We can liberate ourselves from maintaining a masked identity based on inductions formed in families and reinforced by other group pecking orders. We have two births. The first is out of the womb. The second is out of the group. Justin "labels" this revelation - Label Liberation. Once we experience ourselves beyond the "judging mind", a paradigm shift is possible. Justin's work is based on liberating oneself enough to discover an identity that does not require its opposite for reflection. It is an identity, free of jealousy and envy. In this way, we can recognize each other having the potential to be each others equal in essence. In an instant, we can achieve Label Liberation, knowing that, at our core, we each are process, energy, and change...

If life is a card game, where the "winners" need the "losers" and the "losers" need the "winners" for their identity, then what do we do with the Joker?
